The first issue is two hundred and twenty millimetres high by one hundred and thirty millimetres wide. The inner forty pages, which contain the text, are digitally printed in black on Nautilus Classic White uncoated paper weighing ninety grams per square metre. These pages are saddle-stitched with two wires and a trim flush. The cover is eight pages and unfolds three times. The cover is digitally printed in colour on Nautilus Classic White uncoated paper weighing 120 grams per square metre. New Papers is typeset in Loiter (designed by Dilara Koz) and Garamond. The first issue is typeset by Dilara Koz.
The first issue contains six pieces. The first piece is a poem called ‘August Poem’ by Reid Williams. It is printed on pages two and three.
